Life Goes On...

It seems as though I've been getting bad with the sporadic postings again. I have been posting about once a month or so.  I promise I will get better with that. So let's just jump right in to the updates since last month, shall we?

As far as the weight loss goes, I'm still at a stand still.  After lossing approxamently 40 lbs, I've hit a brick wall.   Now, I wish I could say that it was because it wasn't because I stayed away from my dedication to my calorie counting, but that is not the case.  I haven't been recording what I eat.  Oddly enough I've not gained a lot of weight back, only fluxtuate a few pounds here and there. So it looks like I did have a lifestyle change after all. Haha  I need to recommit to my counts and some exercise.  Starting last Saturday, I started walking around the neighborhood (the apartments in our complex and the surrounding block).  It was great, despite the hills. :-)

I've had some great time reading as of late too. Another good habit that I had broken for a bit.  I finished "Understanding God's Word - An Apostolic Approach to Interpreting the Bible" by David K. Bernard. It is an amazing read.  I will go back over my highlights and write up a book report.  I also got further in the very large book "Hebrews: Better Things" by Daniel Segraves.   I'm somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 though. Once I'm done with that I'm on to "I AM: A Oneness Pentecostal Theology" by David S. Norris, then onto "You Can Understand The Bible - Guidelines For Interpreting Scripture" by Daniel L Segrave.   Yeah, I'm still into theology and hermeneutics books.

Now for some more good news. I've made some progress on my Linux distro project.  I've got a live-cd of my project ready to upload to source forge.  It is currently a 1.1GB image and in alpha stage, but it is tangible progress.   I've got some screen shots uploaded on Facebook. What progress it needs is some graphical fixes, changing some menu items/names, get Xiphos working, and hopefully repackage it smaller.   I have two people, other than myself, ready to do some alpha testing.  After that and some app suggestions, we can roll on to Beta, RC, and final release of 1.0.  Then we will have a bootable, fully functional media department on a dvd that a home missions church, or any church for that matter, can use to start or update their media ministry.

Feels good to have some accomplishments. :-)

I'm still concerned about what I'm going to do about my education and career paths. I think I will likely be going back to school then looking for an option to advance my career. Please help me pray about it!

Also, it looks like we might have found a few houses within our price range to go visit.  Things aren't entirely bad. ;-)

At any rate, that's this week's brief update.

Until Next Time
